The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds' feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]! Habakkuk 3:19

Finding your freedom

It is a pleasure meeting you!

I grew up in what I would call a normal childhood. I lived in nice places, we had nice things, and I had plenty of fun friends. In your childhood is where your beliefs are grounded and established. What I considered normal in my life had much dysfunction in the eyes of the world. My father was an absent alcoholic, my mother was on and off of drugs just as much as she was in and out of church, my grandmother was a hypochondriac, and I was exposed to several different types of people along the way.

As I say these things about my family, know that I love them all dearly and would never talk down on them in anyway. I am so thankful for our dysfunction because it has helped mold me and design the person I am today. The dysfunction set me on life course of uncertainty, fear, and rejection. Overshadowing all of these negative characteristics that were trying to take root into my life - the dysfunction gave me drive.

I was determined not to live the way I saw the adults around me living. I would be different. I would be what psychology calls a HERO. Heros tend to want to seek out people that they can save or help. Being a hero meant that I believe the best in everyone, no matter what thier patterns say. Doing this caused me to lower standards time and time again. I would make excuses for people and give allowances for things that I knew were not right in my heart. This landed me right into jail, poor decisions, questionable situations, and even a life threatening domestic violence relationship. My naiveness was shattering my world. It starts to distort the already off system of beliefs. That is the way the enemy works - he will twist, manipulate, and distort any since of who you are - your true identity.

This is done in everyone’s life. From day one, the enemy knows that God has plans for you, and his goal is get you away from that plan and purpose. The beautiful thing is that no matter how far you get from your plan and purpose, God has a way of turning that thing around for you and turning it into something beautiful.

I initially went to school to study psychology. I obtained my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for 9 years. In that 9 years, I started to become calloused to people and their “problems”. I tried to change my scenery and started working in foster care. That was a difficult setting to work in. The traumatic situations you are exposed to in foster care will take an emotional toil on you and wear you down. By this point in my career, I was experiencing something known as sympathy fatigue. I tried to go into sales for a short time which turned out to be so far from where I needed to be. I felt lost and was not sure where to go from there.

In my personal life, God started doing a major work on me in the area of my mindset. He helped pull up several of the roots that were toxic to my identity and purpose and started to reroot me in Him. One thing I learned in this process is that God will use our story for others. There is no way that I went through everything I did to sit silent as so many more around me where dying inside of the same things. From that point, I was led to start school for life coaching. How is life coaching different from counseling? Life coaching is teaching people to take control of their lives. We don’t dig into the drama of your past, only look into the future and how you can change moving forward. I believe that my story can bring freedom to others and that your best life is only a mindset away!  My purpose is to help others find that freedom which birthed “Clare Carr Coaching”.

I look forward to helping others find the same freedom, identity, and confidence that I have found!

XOXO, Clare

Superwoman by His Grace

First and foremost, I am a daughter of my King Jesus. He is the reason I am here today and able to champion this thing called life.  I am the wife to the most wonderful man on planet Earth. I am mom to 8 amazing children, 2 Akitas, and a cat! I have a huge heart for missions and want to see His love invade every corner of the Earth. I  love all things coffee and hope to have my own coffee farm one day in Central America somewhere lol! In my free time, I love to binge on all the pointless TV shows, spend time with my family, ride ATVs, and conquer fear!
